Jelena Aleksic is 27 years old from Zagreb, Croatia. Jelena graduate in March 2011 at the Faculty for Textile and Technology in Zagreb. Her graduate collection was a menswear collection. With this collection Jelena won a competition in Croatia. Since then she is presenting her work at the Croatian fashion week called Cro a Porter. In Jelena’s work she is interested to design by being innovative, futuristic but yet wearable clothes for men and for women.

The Bluepanther men collection presents a monochrome dark blue collection. Her first idea was the deconstruction of classical men clothes like an Anorak, Parka, Trenchcoat, Paletot, Blouson. Through the research Jelena became interested in pleats. She plays with pleats in different directions to give the clothes more comfort and structure. With the regular pleats in different directions on the clothes Jelena gives them an opposite through irregular pleats based by fixed scarfs on the jackets and shirts. The scarves are very long, playful and open to wear in different ways. They are fixed depence on the deconstruction of the classical design on different places on the clothes, like in the neckline or a shoulder part, one end different like the other end of the scarf. Jelena gave the clothes a very playful structure but through the monochrome dark blue garments the models look very dark brooding.
